As a designer, there are moments when you stop, breathe, and let the weight of your work sink in. Winning the A' Design Award with the Roaring Lion Choker feels like one of those moments, a beautiful acknowledgment of a journey that has been filled with both challenges and small victories, one step at a time. This Silver Award represents more than just the piece itself. It embodies the essence of dedication, craftsmanship, and the shared story between artist and creator.

This journey took me from the bustling creative energy of Greenwich Village to the serene shores of the Hamptons, where the first sketches were born, each line and curve reflecting not just the lion’s power but also the grace that would adorn Qymira as she wore it on stage. From there, the final design took shape in Bayonne, France, where the concepts were refined and prepared for the next phase.

The Roaring Lion Choker is a Silver A' Design Award winner, an extraordinarily prestigious recognition granted to top-of-the-line, gorgeous, and impressive designs.

The creation process itself was meticulous. Every detail, from the selection of Tahitian pearls and diamonds to the sculpting of the lion's head in 3D, was an exploration of craftsmanship and creativity. I had the privilege of working closely with my friend and partner, Evgeny Sukhov, jeweler and gemologist, in Hong Kong, where we refined every element until it was perfect, ensuring that the choker not only looked stunning but also functioned comfortably and gracefully during Qymira’s performances.

This award is a testament to the collective effort and vision that brought this piece to life. It’s also a reminder that every challenge faced during the creation was an opportunity to push the boundaries of what jewelry could represent, an expression of both beauty and purpose.

For VERGEZ™, it’s a moment of recognition that is not just about the design itself but about the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship, creativity, and giving back to the world. Every collection we create is a reflection of our values, from the hands-on artistry in our ateliers to our partnerships with organizations that make a meaningful difference, like the One Gaia Foundation and The House of Affection.

This Silver Award is just a step in the journey, but it’s a step I’m proud of. I invite you to explore the Roaring Lion Choker and the story behind its creation. It’s more than just jewelry; it’s a symbol of strength, artistry, and the power of collaboration.

Thank you to the A' Design Awards for this recognition. And to Qymira, for being not just a muse but an inspiration.
